Sustainability
The La Sportiva Prodigio Pro’s product- and brand-level sustainability features make it a relatively low-impact trail runner. It incorporates several recycled materials, including a 100% recycled insole, recycled laces, and recycled lining fabric. While the shoe doesn’t use Bluesign-approved materials, La Sportiva is a Bluesign System Partner, and 50% of its materials are Bluesign approved.
At the brand level, La Sportiva achieves Climate Label certification by tracking its greenhouse gas emissions through the Change Climate Project and offsetting its impact. The company also shares information about its sustainability efforts by publishing an annual impact report. While La Sportiva has made meaningful strides in emissions tracking and material sourcing, it does not yet offer a resale or recycling program for used gear. It does not participate in a third-party program for responsible manufacturing, either. However, the brand uses recycled poly bags, and its shoeboxes are made of Forest Stewardship Council-certified materials.
Below, we break down in detail all of the Prodigio Pro's sustainability attributes at the product and brand level, including links to in-depth articles on relevant topics. For more, see our guide to the best trail running shoes and our review of the Prodigio Pro.
