Matt currently lives in the small town of Leavenworth, Washington, where he spends most of his ski days in the backcountry of Stevens Pass and the nearby Icicle Creek drainage. Matt is known for planning and executing big mountain missions: He recently joined photographer (and friend of Better Trail) Jason Hummel on a summit-to-sea mission, skiing up and down Mt. Baker and packrafting through the entire watershed to the Pacific Ocean. Matt’s favorite piece of ski gear is his trusty Patagonia Triolet pants with full-zip legs, myriad tape patches, and at least one burn hole from a mid-trip fire.
